A native of Newburyport, MA, pianist David Richardson
is a frequent performer in the New York and Boston areas. While
in New York City, Mr. Richardson coached with several opera
companies including the Bronx Opera, Taconic Opera, and the
State Repertory Theatre in New Jersey. Mr. Richardson recently
finished a year in training at the Houston Grand Opera Studio in
Houston, Texas.
Mr. Richardson received his bachelor of music in piano
performance with Maria Clodes Jaguaribe at Boston University. He
then received his masters of music at the Manhattan School of
Music with teacher Kenneth Merrill.
Further studies have included participation in summer music
festivals in Tanglewood and Salzburg. In 2001, Mr. Richardson
was the recipient of an Opera Coach Fellowship at the Aspen
Music Festival.
Mr. Richardson is currently on staff as an accompanist at
Boston University and the Boston Conservatory as a well as
heading the music program at the First Congregational Church in
Melrose, MA. In addition, Mr. Richardson accompanies both the
New England Classical Singers and the Polymnia Choral Society.
