Robert Cruz, currently
working on a master’s degree in collaborative piano at Boston
University, has pursued a broad training in organ, piano,
harpsichord, conducting, and musicology. Robert has appeared
frequently as an accompanist in both voice and instrumental
recitals and also as an orchestral keyboardist in both symphonic
and operatic performances. As a conductor, Robert has led
performances of a wide range of repertoire including J. S.
Bach’s Brandenburg Concerti, Copland’s Appalachian Spring, and
Stanley Wilson’s musical The Boy Friend as well as assisting in
the preparation of a performance of J. S. Bach’s St. John
Passion featuring Christopher Cock in the role of the
Evangelist. Initially an organist by training, Robert has
served as music director for parishes in Illinois and Indiana.
